About Erin

Hello! I’m Erin!

and I am a twenty-something American girl raised on the sunny beaches of South Florida. Now I live in New Orleans, and it’s my favorite city in the world- there’s simply nowhere else like it. I love Christmas lights, chai tea, old yellowed books, NPR, yoga, dream catchers, maps, A Song of Ice and Fire, sweaters, turquoise pottery, baking, cold beers on warm nights, Lord of the Rings, and pretty much can always be found wearing leggings as pants. I love my boyfriend and my dog more than all those things combined, though.

I have always had an old soul and an open heart- I give without expectations of receiving, I want the best for my human family, and I strive for peace in everything I do. I truly believe if you free your mind, the rest will follow, and I have worked toward becoming the type of person I want to be sat next to at a dinner party my whole life: well read, well traveled, funny, albeit wise, and one hell of a good time. I live to make people smile- to feed their souls and hearts, take care of them, and experience their stories, histories, and families to the fullest, and was lucky enough to experience meeting new people in new places many times over when I backpacked around the world in 2013. I visited a lot of places: Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, India, Nepal, France, Italy, Costa Rica, South Africa, Croatia, and Greece are all under my belt and in my heart forever.

Then, I came home. And now, I’m a working girl here in NOLA with a little family in a little house in a big city. I’m changing, growing, evolving. Teaching yoga as much as I can, submitting my writing everywhere, being rejected from everywhere, and writing some more.

My hope for this little sliver of the internet is that you can watch me grow, watch me experience, and hopefully take what I share to heart- good or bad, happy or sad, high seas or low seas. I’ll be here, through it all, typing away on my little computer, trying desperately to live and give the best that I can. This is a place for me to share my writing, my life, my thoughts. It’s a special place for me, but I hope you’ll love it too.
